River runs through

and just opposite is the river. It was a gorgeous spot so we stopped and rested for a while under a weeping willow.

We had thought of having lunch here, according to the map there is a restaurant but we couldn't find it and so decided to go onto Marbouie. A mistake really. The restaurant wasn't that good and it was on a main road which we then had to cycle along for a short while before being able to turn off onto quiet back roads. In fact the main road was fine, the French drivers, as alway's, very considerate, but it was the first time for Pips and she was a little nervous at first.

Chateaudun

We really liked the campsite at Chateaudun but I don't have any photos of it. It was small, and the ground level and grassy, so it was particularly comfy for a tent. Also, our particular pitch had no one close by so it was private too.

It was about 15 minutes out of the town and to get there, which we did that first night, it was a nice walk up some steps by the chateau, with this view over the valley floor.

We found a very nice Moroccan restaurant where we ate so well that we went back the next night.
