To Matfen

From Ryal, instead of taking the non-Reivers shortcut directly to Fenwick, we decided to take the official route through Matfen and have lunch in the pub there.

This was the last time I was dry. It rained like you wouldn't believe, at one point I have water running down my arms and my underpants are sodden and I find my'self sheltering under a tree. Not a leafy oak or chestnut though but some diaphanous number that offered no protection at all. But then what did I care I couldn't really get any wetter.

Fast

This was the section of road after Stamfordham and before Ponteland, taken the day after the previous photo. The wind was in our backs and the tarmac smooth and we were speeding along. Around 30km/hr and the journey which took us about 4 hours on the way out took only 2.5 hours on the way back.

So I wonder where we'll go next?
