This was a two day trip, firstly to Stamfordham for an overnight in Church House, a beautiful B&B, and then on to Simonburn, just south of Wark in Northumberland. We largely followed the Reivers' Route except for the start where we took a even more traffic-free route to Camperdown via a bridleway from Holy'stone.

Just three gates to go
This is the final downhill into Simonburn, it's a small single track lane with three gates to open and close, Pips can't wait to see Dexter the Dog and zooms off, her former fatigue forgotten.
Looking like a film star
The nice thing about staying the night at Simonburn Tea-rooms was that Dexter got to come up to our room and play. It took a while to get a photo that was in focus since he spent a lot of time running about and playing.
Tired? Who's tired?
Well, we thought that walking probably uses different muscles to the cycling ones and so we lost no time in taking Dexter out for a walk.
Sheep
Pips looks at the camera, Dexter looks at sheep off left. It was lovely hot sunny summer day, this is what August is meant to be like.
