A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.
Here you can more clearly see the river running parallel to the canal. At times the two waterway's merged, at more navigable points I imagine. The bridge is a road bridge, though later I'd come across a couple of large canal bridges.
It was now about 9.30am and there were a few cyclists out and about. Largely racing cyclists out for their Sunday morning spin. As you can see it was a beautiful part of the country, lovely stone houses, weeping willows and the slow moving waters of the Yonne and the Canal du Nivernais whose waters were once used for transporting wood and coal to Paris.
