A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.
Each of the emplacements were in a little protected square of hedges. On the other side there was a small river/canal, so it was very quiet. Rollover to see a view from of other direction, though you might need to hover your mouse over for a few seconds before the other image loads.
The next day I had as a rest day and went to explore Moissac. There was a market so I bought some peaches and cherries, the cherries were fantastic and cheap by comparison with England. I didn't bother with lunch but went back to the campsite and ended up sleeping for 3 hours.
I went back into town on the bike for dinner and listened to the sound check of a group that were going to play as the soundtrack for an animated film to be projected in front of the abbey. Unfortunately, it wasn't going to start until 10.00pm and I didn't have my lights and, inspite of my sleep, was still feeling tired, so I decided to just have dinner and miss the film.
The only cheaper place to eat was a pub, english stylee, where I had cassoulet and rosé, though it was still 19€.
On the way back I chatted to a french couple touring with their bikes about their trailer and when I mentioned that I was going south they gave me a street plan of Toulouse, which proved very useful the next day.
18th July. 91km, avg 17.8km/hr, max 33.3km/hr 5hrs riding, 8hrs total.
Deyme is about 20km south of Toulouse.
This is the canal bridge south of Moissac, there is a much bigger one on the way into Agen but it hadn't really registered. I met a cyclist when I was taking this photo who couldn't quite believe that I hadn't noticed the canal bridge at Agen so I paid particular attention on the way back. The cyclist was fascinated by the recumbent and had a sit on it to see what it was like. We ended up chatting for 20 minutes or so before I continued.
