A fixer-upper

Part of the reason I thought 'bugger it' I'll just carry on when I found the campsite shut was that, two years previously, I'd met a dog, which I'd baptised Luc and I really fancied seeing how he was getting on.

Not really like me since, though I like dogs, I'm not that sentimental about them.  However, there was something about this dog that I'd particularly liked.

I knew the way and I knew that in a couple of km I'd hear him barking and he'd come running out and be pleased to see me.

No dog, nice chambre d'hôte

Unfortunately there was no barking and no dog.  I knew that the house opposite where I'd met Luc was a chambre d'hôte, I knew this because two years ago, when I got back to England I actually phoned up the tourist board to track it down.

So, they had a spare room, I thought I merited a treat, so I decided to stay here rather than go on to Bizanet and find the campsite.

It was a lovely chambre d'hôte, very comfy, very, very friendly people.  In fact, in addition to the room I decided to eat too and I'm very glad I did.  There were two Swiss women, sisters, and their two boy's staying too, and we all sat down to dinner together.  It was so much fun, we all drank a tiny bit too much, the bison grass vodka really nailed it, but we drank just enough to losen tongues and make laughing easier.

One of the stories one of the sisters told was they had been trying to get Swiss nationality for years, in spite of having been born in Switzerland.  One of their parents you see wasn't Swiss.  In fact, the girl's passport had written their birthday as "date of entry to Switzerland".
