A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.

We spent about three days staying in Quimper, it was a lovely three days, the beaches nearby are spectacular as were a number of small villages we visited. The slide show images show a few of the sites, but, as you can see in this image, the centre has a lot of tiered half-timber buildings with cobbled streets in what is a purely pedestrianised centre.
The hotel we stayed in, whilst not inspiring from the outside was lovely inside and the staff were wonderful, very helpful indeed. It was Best Western, Hôtel Kregenn, oh, and they have gated parking.
We found a couple of places to eat that were good enough to go back to for a second visit and we did exciting things like: going to the launderette.
We left Quimper after a good breakfast at the hotel and headed off, with a stop at a vets on the outskirts of town to get same his worming tablets and certification, a requirement before returning to the UK.
We went via Rennes, apart from being interested in seeing it, I had an ulterior motive, I wanted to buy some shoes, some Paraboot Michel and there was a shop in Rennes. We made it just before the shop shut, and it was market day so finding parking was a feat in itself. We literally ran to the shop to find a sign on the door "closed because of illness". Still, we wandered around the market, had a really tasty sandwich and heard a live band in the sunny square playing jazz manouche, and they really swung.
We then went on towards Mont Saint-Michel, though I later found out that Pips had really wanted to go to Saint Malo, and I didn't pick up on what I took to be a passing comment but which, in fact, was a strong desire. It's a pity I didn't get the clue because were we did stay was horrible.
